Why I think the season should be concluded behind closed doors

For many supporters, before football came to a standstill, it looked likely that it would finally be their year...
Liverpool's 30-year title drought was within a few games of coming to an end, only for the wait to continue - for how long, who knows?
It is a similar story for Leeds United. Their 14-year stay in the top flight came to an abrupt end in 2004 and they have not returned since. They are currently top of the Championship and had won their previous five matches.
For Liverpool players and supporters, it is more than likely they won't be celebrating their title together but it is certainly better than completely cancelling the season.
This has happened firstly in England, with all divisions below the National League North/South declared 'null and void' - which is very unfair on teams like Isthimian North Division side Maldon & Tiptree, who had lost just two games all season and were 14 points clear at the top.
A similar story in Scotland, where all Scottish leagues from the Championship and below have been ended early, although instead of declaring them null and void, some teams have been promoted and others relegated.
For example, Dundee United will be promoted to the Scottish Premiership and play the likes of Celtic and Rangers next season - but on the other hand, Partick Thistle will be relegated to League One despite having a game in hand on Queen of the South who sit just two points ahead of them.
Euro 2020 has been postponed until next summer in order to allow time to finish the current season. I feel that the best way to ensure the Euros does go ahead in 2021 is to conclude the 2019/20 season as safely as possible before next season.
Dependant on government guidelines, it might be a while until mass gatherings can once again take place. Ideally, start the season with spectators if safe to do so - but if not, delay the start of the season until the winter and begin with empty stadiums.
This way, the season can commence and gradually, fans will be allowed back into stadiums and Euro 2021 can go ahead next summer.
However, nothing is certain at this point. Football is on hold at the moment and although we are missing our beloved sport, the safety of players, staff and fans is the priority before we can think of a restart.
