About Me

I am Joe Cummings, co-founder of this blog and a sports journalist coming to the end of three years at the University of Gloucestershire, where I study Sports Journalism

Since I started the course I've worked as a media intern at Cheltenham Town, writing match reports and interviewing current and former players for social media platforms and matchday programs.

Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, I have returned to my home in Wales and have been posting on here in order to keep practising my skills and giving people something to read while they are stuck inside.

Aside from my sports journalism, I have supported Cardiff City since I was a kid, and have been a season ticket holder since 2008/09.

My dream job would be to work there, but as a graduate any job in the sports journalism field would be fantastic and working for my boyhood club is more of a long-term aim.

I've managed to get some valuable work experience at Bristol Live in August 2019 when I covered Bristol City men's, women's and Under 23's teams as well as minority sports for the website.

A few months later I did a week at Gloucestershire Live and managed to get my first newspaper article as well as live-blogging a Gloucester Rugby press conference and covering local football for the website.

As well as developing those skills and many more such as broadcasting at UoG, I feel I am ready to start contributing my ideas and passion after the lockdown is lifted.
