Why I think Cardiff City can stay in the Premier League, and who they need to sign

Cardiff City defied all odds to gain promotion back to the Premier League after a four year absence, and yet again all the critics are writing off the Bluebirds ahead of the new season.

All of my course mates disagree that Cardiff can retain their Premier League status, but what I say to them is, 'If Huddersfield, Brighton and Newcastle all can, why can't Cardiff?'.

Cardiff can stay up if they add quality in the right areas, because, with the best defence in the Championship last term, they probably only need defensive reinforcements, as oppose to in attack.

After West Brom were relegated I think Salomon Rondon could be a great buy as he is a Warnock kind of player, works hard for the team and scores goals.

They have been linked with German Sven Schipplock who has no Premier League experience, so I wouldn't go for him personally.

In some matches last season Cardiff lacked a creative midfielder who made things tick, and could play a killer pass. James McCarthur has been linked with Cardiff after scoring 5 goals last term, and I think he would be decent addition, as he is a jack of all trades.

Joe Allen, who is formerly of Swansea, was relagated to the Championship with Stoke and has showed he is good enough to play in the Premier League, so I would be urging Neil Warnock to sign him up.

Whether he would join Cardiff given the history is another matter, but if his head could be turned it would be a great addition to the midfield.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing endured a mixed first season at the Cardiff City Stadium. He started off on fire with 5 goals in his first 4 games but struggled for form until the end of the season, where he came good.

He needs competition on that right wing, and Robert Snodgrass is transfer listed at West Ham in the summer, he could be a great addition out wide.
