There's Only One Neil Warnock!

Neil Warnock worked a miracle this season by guiding Cardiff City to the Premier League against all the odds, and also secured a record eighth promotion as a manager.

The Bluebirds were outsiders for the play-offs at 33/1 at the beginning of the season, but fast forward 9 months and Warnock is now preparing to try and keep Cardiff in the top division next season.

I've been watching Cardiff City since I was young and can count myself rather lucky overall. When my dad was my age he went to most of the away trips to the likes of York City, Halifax and Carlisle!

I, however, have the chance to go to Anfield, Old Trafford or the Emirates. And that aside, I've already seen City play at Wembley 4 times! Although I'd rather not discuss the outcome of the three finals...

I've had a season ticket since the last season at the old Ninian Park (2008/09), when Cardiff narrowly missed out on the play-offs after losing our last home match at Ninian Park 3-0 to Ipswich Town.

City were at Wembley to contest the final of the play-offs in 2010 but fell short at the last hurdle (3-2 against Blackpool).

Neil Warnock came in when the Bluebirds were at their lowest point for years, lying 23rd in the table. Warnock stated that he wanted to get the club promoted back to the Premier League after our immediate relegation in the 2013/14 season.

He guided us to a remarkable 12th placed finish, and it all started with a brilliant 2-1 home win against Severnside rivals Bristol City.

This season the aim was play-offs. That itself looked a tall order considering the amount of money spent compared to other clubs in the league, but it was pure desire, determination and togetherness that has got City promoted.

No player scored more than 11 goals in all competitions, but with the joint best defence and the ability to come back from disappointments and grind out results in difficult games, Warnock was able to lift Cardiff to second in the league.

Many would've had their money on Fulham in the final stretch of the season, especially considering they went on a 23-match unbeaten run.

But Cardiff managed to do it after picking themselves up from defeats to Wolves and Villa, eventually securing promotion on the final day.
